A German ship’s Captain (Jürgen Prochnow), down on his luck and on a drunken binge over his guilt-ridden past, agrees to take two British women from Gibraltar to the West Indies in his boat and start over. Early into the voyage both passengers realize this is no "Love Boat", but a blood vessel!

The Bella Dona sets off to Barbados, but what begins as a routine voyage turns first into stormy weather, then to a storm of rage and jealousy as Lou clashes with her friend (Patsy Kensit) and the climate is set for murder.
