Steve McQueen stars as George Fowler, an ace driver recruited for the getaway of three hard core criminals planning an elaborate robbery of St. Louis’s well protected Southwest Bank. The extensive preparations draw the suspicion of George’s former girlfriend (Molly McArthy as Ann), who happens to be the sister of one of the robbers.
As the gang cases the bank with extreme caution their secretive behavior draws Ann’s attention and creates high tension between the group’s dangerous members.
Based on a true story, this is One Of The Best Bank Heist Films Ever Made! Many of the extras are authentic St. Louis Police Department officers playing themselves and actual bank employees play the same parts they did while at work during the original robbery attempt.
Steve McQueen – America’s Favorite Star
Hollywood’s “King Of Cool” during the 60s and 70s, Steve McQueen was a cut above and a heavy influence on the action stars of today. An accomplished road racer, he often performed dangerous car and motorcycle stunts in what are now classic action scenes from movies like Bullit and The Great Escape.
His off-screen life was equally exciting from his marriage to America’s then Sweetheart, Love Story’s Ali McGraw, to his games of chicken with LA’s Finest as he raced his Ferrari Berlinetta down Sunset Boulevard from Hollywood to his home in Malibu.
At the peak of his career he was the highest paid actor in the world.
